Admixtures can be added to our concrete at the customers discretion - get in contact should you seek professional advice on concrete admixtures.
Listed below are some of the admixtures we offer and their purpose whilst added to concrete;
- – Fibres/Steel Fibres – Enhanced strength and reduces chance of surface cracking.
- – WRA – Water reducing agent. Can minimise the risk of segregation and bleeding.
- – Plasticisers – Improved workability and helps reduce shrinkage and thermal cracking.
- – Retarding agents – Reduces the rate of setting.
- – Accelerating chemicals – Increases the rate of setting.
» Concrete Sealer is advised to apply to concrete yards just after they have set. It effectively cures and seals the concrete surfaces in a single application – predominantly applied with a back sprayer. Sealer does not totally prevent concrete exposed to the elements but it aids against conditions such as freeze thaw. Get in touch with one of our reps for more information.
» Sealers are sold in 25l Jars (1l does 5-8 sqm)
- Sealer should be applied as soon as finishing techniques have occurred such as power-floating/brushing etc. DO NOT cut the concrete and then apply Sealer as the dirt/dust will rest on the surface and this would need to be washed off before application. Fresh concrete should not be washed using power washers or any means that may affect performance of the concrete.
*It should be noted that Fibres are not a replacement for steel in structural concrete*
